Shan Anderson
Intern Therapist, Pre-Licensed

Are you your own worst critic? Perhaps you don't like who you've become, find it hard to trust yourself, or feel like you constantly let yourself down. As if life's challenges aren't hard enough, you're hard on yourself, too.I'm Shan (pronounced 'Shawn'), and I'm here to help. My role is to empower you to repair your relationship with yourself.I'm a Masters counseling student training in trauma-informed psychotherapy. I help adults overcome trauma and negative self-concept. I'm also passionate about cultural identity and SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression, and Sex Characteristics).I primarily use strengths-based therapies, including parts work. That said, my exact approach depends on what resonates with you.In sessions, I'm straightforward yet encouraging, humorous but genuine, and challenging while caring. Above all, I'm adaptable and treat therapy as collaborative. The services I provide are affirming of marginalized experiences, including gender and sexual minorities, oppressed racial and ethnic groups, and alternative lifestyles. I also welcome the exploration of spiritual beliefs.I am not taking therapy clients at this time.
